NORTHBROOK, IL–Today, Democrat Brad Schneider announced the endorsement of the Transport Workers Union (TWU).

“Transportation is the backbone of our infrastructure, and I am honored to again be endorsed by the Transport Workers Union,” said Schneider. “During my service in Congress, I was proud to stand up for working men and women by fighting for a fair minimum wage and an economy that works for everyone. I am looking forward to returning to Washington to advocate on behalf of labor on these critical issues.”

“The Transport Workers Union proudly endorses Brad Schneider,” said TWU State Conference Political Coordinator Chris Biancalana. “Brad has always fought to create jobs and protect workers’ rights. The nearly 140,000 members of TWU are looking forward to working hard to send our friend and advocate, Brad Schneider, back to Congress.”

The Transport Workers are dedicated to bettering the lives of working families. TWU represents nearly 140,000 workers in the airline, public transportation and railroad sectors. The union is composed of 100 autonomous locals representing members and retirees from coast to coast. In Illinois, TWU members work for American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Divvy Bikeshare, Envoy Air, Allegiant Air, and Virgin America.

Brad’s leadership has also been recognized by the unanimous support of the Illinois AFL-CIO and other labor union locals, including Amalgamated Transit Union International, SEIU Illinois State Council, UAW Region 4, Illinois State Association of Letter Carriers, Pipefitters, Sheet Metal Workers, Illinois Federation of Teachers, IBEW and others.
