Schneider Campaign Statement on Bob Dold’s Continued Silence and Complicity
NORTHBROOK, IL - Today, Schneider for Congress Campaign Manager Magen Ryan issued the following statement on Bob Dold’s silence and complicity in the face of Donald Trump’s dangerous comments:
“To be conspicuously silent in the face of Donald Trump’s demagoguery, including attacks on a Gold Star family and suggesting citizens consider gun violence against his opponent or the judges she chooses, is not just irresponsible, it is being complicit with Trump’s dangerous campaign. At this point, anything less than fully denouncing Trump and endorsing Hillary Clinton is Congressman Bob Dold putting his party before country.”
Republican Bob Dold has been silent since Donald Trump became his party’s presidential nominee.
- When his party endorsed “the most extreme Republican platform in memory,” Dold did not speak up.
- When his party’s nominee launched vicious personal attacks on a grieving Gold Star military family, Dold did not speak up.
- When Donald Trump said women who are sexually harassed in the workplace should just quit, Dold did not speak up.
- When Donald Trump dangerously suggested violence as a solution to political debates, Dold again did not speak up.
What would it take for Bob Dold to speak up?
