Machinists Local 701 Backs Brad Schneider’s Congressional Bid

Schneider Continues to Build Momentum Going into March Primary

NORTHBROOK, IL—Today, Democrat Brad Schneider (IL-10), announced the endorsement of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Mechanics’ Union Local 701.

This is the latest in a string of endorsements for Schneider including The Daily Herald, the Illinois AFL-CIO, SEIU Illinois Council, and the Illinois Federation of Teachers.

“I am honored to have the support of IAM Mechanics' Local 701,” Brad Schneider said. “Mechanics keep our drivers safe and fuel our economy in doing so. I’m looking forward to returning to Congress to advocate on behalf of issues important to working men and women including increasing the minimum wage, creating jobs, and expanding our middle class.”

“Brad understands the challenges working families are up against and our Union has always been able to count on him,” said Sam Cicinelli, Directing Business Representative for Local 701. “We are proud to endorse his Congressional bid and are looking forward to working with him when he is back in Washington.”

Local 701 is the largest Mechanics Union in the United States representing auto and truck mechanics, body shops, heavy equipment mechanics, bus mechanics, excavating and paving, road building, forklifts, aerial and high-rise equipment, tank washers, fuelers, trailer body, marine, machine shops, tool and die, maintenance mechanics, refrigeration technicians, RV mechanics, independent shop mechanics, tool dealers, fleet service mechanics, container, instructors teaching the trade, locksmiths, waste hauler mechanics and barge line industry mechanics.
