Dold Votes for 22nd Time to Block Voting on “No Fly, No Buy”
Republicans to Adjourn For Summer Recess Without Taking Critical Action
NORTHBROOK, IL – Despite repeatedly pronouncing his support for passing “No Fly, No Buy” legislation, Republican Bob Dold (IL-10) yesterday voted for the 22nd time to block the legislation from coming to a vote as House Republicans prepare to adjourn until September without voting on gun safety legislation.
“It is inexcusable and irresponsible for Bob Dold and the Republicans to adjourn for seven weeks, effectively going on vacation, without taking any action on gun safety legislation,” said Schneider spokesperson Magen Ryan. “Bob Dold can pretend he supports “No Fly, No Buy” all he wants, but his 22 votes to block efforts bringing it to a vote speak volumes. The Republicans continued gross inaction on guns completely disregards the innocent lives that are lost to gun violence everyday in our country.”
