At a time when we believed that the progress made on women’s rights was secure, we’ve seen unprecedented attempts to limit a woman’s right to choose, her access to health care, and equal pay in the workplace.

I am 100% pro-choice, and in Congress I plan to push back against these misguided attacks on women’s rights. I am honored to have support from the women of the 10th District. I hope that you will join this group to help me ensure that Congress doesn’t get between a woman and her doctor. Thank you so much for standing up with me and for equality.

Why I Support Brad

I support Brad’s candidacy because Brad supports my views with regard to women’s rights, health care, job equality, education, and the environment. He also understands the necessity for collaboration and compromise in Washington, D.C. in order to get things done!

Brad speaks for me when he says, “Women have a fundamental right to make decisions about their bodies and health, free from intrusion by the government.”

But women’s issues encompass so much more than just health issues……….

Brad speaks for me when he states, “In these difficult economic …

Protecting Women’s Rights

One of the wisest women I have ever known was my grandmother, Molly Bee. She was the matriarch of our large and loving family, shaping the character and values of her six children, 18 grandchildren, and even 32 great-grandchildren.

I sometimes think back on everything Molly saw during her lifetime – some of America’s finest moments and some of her darkest hours. I think back on the progress we made during her lifetime, and especially the progress for women – the 19th Amendment, Title IX, Roe …

Maneuver on Woman’s Health

Schakowsky: “one of the most transparent election-year ploys I’ve ever seen”

NORTHBROOK – Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky responded to Congressman Robert Dold playing partisan politics with women’s health care. Congresswoman Schakowsky released a statement about Dold’s record on issues important to women:

“Access to care for women should be above partisan politics. This is one of the most transparent election-year ploys I’ve ever seen and women in Illinois aren’t going to be fooled. This maneuver is trying to accomplish one thing and …

Dem calls GOP freshman’s support for Planned Parenthood ‘opportunism’

Rep. Robert Dold’s (R-Ill.) support for Planned Parenthood is a “stunt,” Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) charged Tuesday.

Schakowsky criticized Dold’s record on women’s issues as she campaigned for his Democratic challenger, Brad Schneider. Dold’s district is the most heavily Democratic of any district held by a Republican.

Dold introduced a bill last week to protect Planned Parenthood’s federal funding, which Republicans have repeatedly attempted to cut off. And he was one of just seven House Republicans to …

Brad Schneider: In the midst of a dysfunctional and broken Washington, Congressman Dold has repeatedly put politics ahead of women’s health and safety. The women and families of Illinois 10th district deserve better.

NORTHBROOK, IL—Brad Schneider today released the following statement on Congressman Dold’s disturbing record on women’s issues since coming to Congress.

“Taken as a whole, Congressman Dold’s record on issues important to women is disappointing.  Last year, Congressman Dold voted with his Republican colleagues to terminate funding for Planned Parenthood.  When it comes to reproductive freedom, …
