NORTHBROOK –The Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois (AFFI) today officially endorsed small businessman Brad Schneider (IL-10), joining the Human Rights Campaign and the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund as the latest high-profile organization to support the Democratic Congressional Nominee after having previously endorsed former Republican Congressman Mark Kirk. Illinois firefighters praised Schneider for his strong support of the fire fighters and EMS providers throughout the state.

“Brad Schneider will be a dedicated advocate for America’s first responders,” said AFFI President Pat Devaney. “Our firefighters put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities, and we need more people like Brad in Congress, lobbying for the brave men and women of fire departments and emergency services across the country.”

Schneider, who is running against first-term Republican Congressman Bob Dold, was honored and humbled by the AFFI’s public endorsement.

“It’s truly a privilege to receive the support of Illinois’s firefighters and EMS providers,” said Schneider. “In our moments of greatest need, the heroic men and women who make up our first responders teams are there for us. In Congress, I will be a strong ally for the AFFI, making sure that we protect those who protect us. Our first responders deserve our respect and gratitude – nothing less.”
