Schneider’s Commitment to Advancing Education Earns IFT EndorsementPosted on July 26, 2012
NORTHBROOK – The Illinois Federation of Teachers (IFT) today announced its support for Democratic Congressional nominee Brad Schneider (IL-10), praising his commitment to positive change for public education. The IFT represents 103,000 members who provide quality education and public services for Illinois students and citizens.
“It’s a pleasure to announce our endorsement of Brad Schneider in his campaign for Congress,” said IFT President Dan Montgomery. “Brad will be the type of strong advocate that teachers need in Washington. He understands that good education is essential to success in today’s global economy. He is dedicated to improving our classrooms, enhancing our children’s opportunities, and empowering our educators. We look forward to working with Brad when he is in office.”
Schneider expressed gratitude and pride after receiving the endorsement. “I’m deeply honored to have the support of Illinois’s teachers,” said the Democratic challenger. “I believe that success in the 21st Century depends on having an educated workforce, and that begins with having the best teachers and the finest schools. Education is the driving force behind American innovation, and we need to offer the next generation the proper tools with which they can succeed, and that means giving our teachers the tools and resources they need to excel.”
