Since the Tea Party took hold of Congress two years ago, they’ve renewed efforts to abolish the EPA, voted to strip essential environmental protections for clean air and water and continue to ignore the science behind climate change. And instead of focusing on how to protect our planet, they put handouts to oil companies  ahead of preserving  our natural wonders. I don’t agree. 

Contrary to the ideological rhetoric of the Tea Party, protecting our environment and expanding
our economy go hand-in-hand. 21^st Century American innovation in green and renewable energy will create countless new, private-sector jobs – jobs that will be around for decades to come. Offering tax incentives to companies that reduce or eliminate carbon pollution will offer market solutions to our overdependence on foreign oil, and a strong EPA will ensure that our children have clean air to breathe and clean water to drink. With the support of the Sierra Club and the League of Conservation Voters, I’m proud to say that I will defend our environment in Congress. I hope you will join us!
